On our Wales weekend break we take you to the beautiful
Snowdonia National Park, the second largest national park
in England and Wales. With its magnificent scenery and of
course Mount Snowdon itself, it is a perfect place for a
great diversity of walks.
Day 1
On day one we will leave Dublin North Wall on bord the Ulysses
bound for Holyhead. Our base will be in the lively town
of Colwyn Bay.
Day 2
On the first walking day we will tackle the highest mount
in Wales: Snowdon. Via the Pyg Track, an old mining trail,
we will reach the summit at 1085 metres. On our descent
you will enjoy the spectacular panoramic views of the Welsh
mountains, finishing in the beautiful town of Llanberis.
Distance: 11.5km, Height Gain: 735m
Day 3
On our next day we will do a circular walk starting in the
small village of Capel Curig, set in the heart of the National
Park. This walk takes us through a mixture of forests, valleys,
lakes and wide-open mountainsides with awe-inspiring views.
We will finish off the day with a pint of our favourite
brew in the village!
Distance: 16.5km, Height Gain: 580m
Day 4
On our final day you have the choice to either go shopping
in the town, or take a short relaxing trip with us to the
Great Orme. While we are there we will visit the old Copper
Mine, which dates back over 4000 years and is the world's
largest Prehistoric Mine. We will be departing Colwyn Bay
early in the afternoon to catch our ferry back to Dublin.
