SHORT BREAK IN THE "ANTRIM COST AND GLENS"

Why not come along and join us for a weekend on a trip to the Causeway Coast and Glens of Co. Antrim. Our weekend takes you on a journey through a landscape that is breathtakingly beautiful; through mysterious and mystical glens and along one of the most dramatic coastlines in Europe; the Causeway Coast. A journey of discovery that will relax both body and soul. It's a journey in life that is not to be missed.

Day1
Depart Wicklow at approximately 1pm for Co. Antrim.
Our journey north takes us through Dublin and onto Belfast; stopping off in Antrim Town for our evening meal. The day finishes in the quiet country village of Ballintoy. Our accommodation for the duration of our stay is in the Fullerton Arms.

Day 2
The Giants Causeway; Distance: 17.6Km: 11 miles: height gain 100mtrs: 300Ft
This is one of the best coastal walks to be found anywhere in Europe; if not in the world. The day offers you an awe-inspiring array or scenery; flora and fauna; a combination of which you will find hard to beat in a days walk; anywhere.
Our walk starts with a visit to the Giant's Causeway, often referred to by the locals as the eighth wonder of the world and declared as Ireland's first World Heritage site in 1986. It consists of 40,000 polygonal basalt columns, some of which are 6ft in height, all side-by-side and is explored by 350,000 visitors yearly, but we will be starting early enough to avoid the rush!
After leaving the Causeway our journey takes us along a cliff path that passes the ruins of Dunseverick Castles; along the golden sandy beaches of White Park Bay to the world famous Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. This is an amazing place and if you are brave enough to cross the bridge that spans an 80ft chasm the experience will be invigorating. But it is an option, so crossing is not compulsory. If you do wish to cross there is a charge of £2 for the pleasure! Our walk finishes back at our accommodation for some celebratory drinks before dinner.

Day 3
The Glens of Antrim
Our homewards journey takes us on a short visit to Bushmills Whiskery Distillery's where we will spend approximately 1hr.
Then it's on to Fair and Torr Head; through Glendun, Cushendun and Glenaan, finally into Glenariff; better known as the "Queen of The Glen's" Here we will do a short walk through Glenariff Forest Park and Waterfalls before bidding farewell to Co. Antrim and head back south again.
